What is an LCSW?

A Licensed Clinical Social Worker holds a master's degree in social work plus two or more years of supervised clinical experience. LCSWs diagnose and treat mental health conditions with talk therapy and are known for a practical, whole-life view — they consider work, family, housing, and community alongside symptoms. They cannot prescribe medication, but often coordinate with prescribers.
